Lavada Ratliff Hall was designed to be a co-ed facility when it was built though it never housed men and women during the regular year until 2006. All rooms have stackable bunk beds, desk chairs, desks, and wardrobe with drawers or closet/chest of drawers. Ratliff Hall consists of two parallel wings, East and West.
The east wing has three floors and is all male. The west wing has females on all three floors. Ratliff can house about 240 students. Ratliff Hall rooms are all double rooms. If space is available, after everyone is assigned a room, some students will be able to pay an additional fee to keep a double room as a private room (no roommate). The decision on availability of singles is made after the semester starts.
The vast majority of rooms are traditional double occupancy rooms with internet, cable TV and telephone jacks provided. All rooms are carpeted. Each floor has a centrally located community bathroom. The building has a main lounge with a 54 inch TV, student-accessible meeting room, kitchen, wellness/fitness room (exercise machines), vending area, main desk, individual mailboxes, recreation room, and two laundry rooms. The hall also has several sundecks and individual floor lounges.
