Academic Year 2009-2010
It is after mid-term already. The semester has flown by. It is time to turn our attention to Thanksgiving break, Final exams, the end of the semester and the holidays. Speaking of final exams, tutoring is available year round so get help if you need it.
We have been on top of the H1N1 flu and seasonal flu preparations. When our students have been sick, they are following the directions on our web site. H1N1 Preperations We passed out the “Flu goodie bags” (tissues, hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, ibuprophen, and educational information) in the halls and around campus. Thanks to Peggy Lambert Fink of the Student Health Center for those.

APPLICATION FOR SPRING 2010 HOUSING
This is for new residence hall students.
Once you have been admitted to WVU Tech, you can complete the housing application and pay the $100 housing deposit online through the STAR Information System, accessible through your MIX account. In addition to the application and deposit, you will select your meal plan and indicate your three residence hall preferences. To complete your housing application and pay your housing deposit online:
1. Sign into Mountaineer Information Xpress (MIX) at mix.wvu.edu using your MIX ID and password (you should have already received instructions for using the MIX account).
2. Click on the “STAR” tab.
3. Click on the “Star Information System” link.
4. Click on “Student, Financial Aid, and Housing” link.
5. Click on “Housing” link.
6. Click on “Housing Application” link to complete the application and pay the deposit OR click on “Pay Housing Deposit” link if you have previously submitted the Housing Application.
As a reminder, you must complete your housing application before the system will allow you to pay your housing deposit.
You can also request a paper Housing application through the STAR Information System. Follow the same steps as above. For item 6) click on “Request Paper Application” and submit. One will be mailed to your Permanent Home address. Complete the paper application and mail it in with your housing deposit.

APPLICATION FOR SUMMER 2010
Summer Applications will not be using the on-line system. We will use paper contracts which you can print out now. Use the link on the left, Summer Housing Application. Please contact the WVU Tech Residence Life Office at Tech-Housing@mail.wvu.edu: or (304) 442-3158 if you have any questions.
APPLICATION FOR 2010-2011 HOUSING
All students will re-apply for housing for the 2010-2011 academic year. The current residence hall students will be informed through their MIX accounts about how to re-apply. Current and new students that are not currently living on campus will use the procedure outlined above for Spring 2010.
GENERAL HOUSING TIMETABLE
1. Accept Housing contracts after you are admitted to WVU Tech year round.
2. February – current resident students fill out contracts and pay deposits for the next fall online.
3. April – Students use HMS system to choose fall rooms is class order (Sr, Jr, Soph, Fresh, new)
4. April – Room assignments are posted to MIX immediately.
5. July – Fall bills are sent.
6. August 1 – Last day to cancel fall housing (in writing) and get refund of deposit.
7. August (early) – Residence Halls open for Tech sport pre-season camps.
8. August (middle) – Residence halls open. Students that need to register move in Friday from 9 am – Noon. New and Returning students Saturday between 9 am – 7 pm.
9. September – begin accepting Spring applications
10. November 20 – last day to cancel spring housing
11. December 1 – Spring bills are sent
12. Early January – Residence Halls open for spring semester
